New Iron Man 2 Game for the Wii System 0
Though most gamers groan at the mention of games based on popular movies, Iron Man 2 for the Nintendo Wii is something of a diamond in the rough, particularly compared to its predecessor. While it does not really take great strides to further the genre, if you happen to be a fan of the franchise, Iron Man 2 may very well be of interest to you.
Naturally, the game puts you once again in the role of Tony Stark, just after his announcement that he is in fact Iron Man, as seen at the end of the first film. Unfortunately, his good intentions of saving the world are not enough to keep the forces of evil at arm’s length, and you will be forced to suit up to take down everything from giant robots the size of skyscrapers to villains from the comics that have not yet been seen on the silver screen, such as the Crimson Dynamo.
What makes this game particularly entertaining is the fact that in Tony’s workshop, you have a variety of suits at your disposal, each with weapons for you to customize. This also includes for the first time in any game the playability of fan favorite War Machine, who features prominently in the Iron Man film sequel. Customize your arsenal to suit your needs for each mission (you can use any of the vast array of wii gun accessories available), adding a higher degree of strategy to a genre that tends to be severely lacking in it.
With the requirement of planning your strategy and customizing your suits comes a greater deal of time investment to get the most out of the game. If you find yourself running low on batteries during your hours spent in the shoes of playboy Stark, you may be wise to invest in Nintendo Wii accessories that will increase your playtime, such as a reliable battery charger.
The game takes you on a wide array of missions, utilizing your weapons and suits to eliminate your enemies and ultimately save the world. The game becomes fairly formulaic after awhile, but is certainly entertaining and immersive and handles arguably better than its prequel, though at times the flight controls may feel a bit off.
Despite its shortcomings, Ir#on Man 2 Wii stands out among the plethora of games made from feature films as a title that may actually be worth your time. While you may have already dusted off your Wii to pick up some of the other recent titles to hit the console, consider making Iron M#an 2 one of your purchases as well.
