The Difference Between Male And Female Hair Loss 0

Apr29

Here’s an interesting fact.  Did you know that 60% of the people who visit a doctor about hair loss are women?  Most people don’t realize this but the fact is female hair loss is a big problem.  What is very telling is the fact that almost all the products that deal with thinning and balding hair problems are targeted toward men.

The main cause of hair loss in both men and women is Androgenic Alopecia or its common name male pattern baldness.  Even the name is indicative of the bias toward male hair loss.  Even though both sexes suffer from the same genetic condition the way it is manifested is quite different.

The name comes from the fact that men tend to lose their hair at the hair line and on the vertex or top of the head.  These are the familiar patterns we see.  Women, on the other hand, will not generally have patterns but instead will have thinning over the entire or majority of the scalp.  Often times a woman won’t even realize she is developing a problem because the thinning is so wide spread and comes on over a couple of years.  Usually she just wakes up one day and realizes her hair has thinned dramatically.

When women are contemplating female hair restoration help the best results will be obtained by starting the treatment as early as possible.  The result of Androgenic Alopecia is that the hair follicles actually stop producing hair shaft material because the nutrient flow has been shut off by a hormonal derivative called DHT.  The longer the hair roots can be protected from this attack the longer the patient will be able to keep a full head of hair. If you wait till the hair shaft is completely shut off you will not be able to re-grow the hair and the only option is hair implants.

The only FDA approved drug for treating hair loss in women is Minoxidil which is found in the majority of the hair loss treatments advertised.  For females, the strength of the solution is set at 2% Minoxidil while for males the strength is 5%.  Many women have actually used their husbands 5% solution with good results but the Food and Drug Administration does not recommend this.

Eyebrow Tattoo – What To Think About 0

Feb17

Before getting an eyebrow tattoo its a good idea to ask yourself the following questions to ensure you understand what you are getting yourself into.

1. Why are you getting an eyebrow tattoo?

Once you know the reason for getting tattoo eyebrows ask yourself whether it is worth going through the pain and possibility that things won’t turn out the way you want.

2. Would you like it for the rest of your life?

Remember tattoos are a permanent makeup procedure, you cannot just change your mind about it. Aside from this, how sure are you that it would still look good on your 10-ear-older face when everything starts to droop and sag.

3. Are you ready for the pain?

They may cause you from forever having to fill out your brows but the procedure can be pretty painful.. If your tolerance level for pain is very low then buy plenty of eyebrow pencils instead.

4. Is it safe?

Make sure you choose an artist who is experienced and knows exactly what you want from the process.

Also check their clinic first and make sure they are sanitary as you could easily get infections through the use of dirty needles.

5. What if you change your mind?

Make sure you have a back-up plan for everything. Some people choose to have their eyebrows done quite lightly so that they can fill them out with eyebrow pencils in order to make them look more natural.

6. How much do you know about eyebrow tattoos?

If you don’t know at least one person who has done it before then go and do some research first. Although its great if you can talk to someone you know well who can give you a balanced view of the pros and cons involved. The Internet can only give you so much information, and some of it cannot be trusted.

7. Does anyone in your family or friends know that you are considering getting an eyebrow tattoo?

Many times family and friends might be wary of us getting this done because they fear we might regret it if it doesn’t go completely to plan. Tell then of your plans well ahead of time so they can get used to the idea.

The most important thing you should bear in mind is that we all have our reasons for getting an eyebrow tattoo and, while there is nothing wrong with them, make sure that you have thought it through carefully before stepping into the studio. Remember that a tattoo is for life.
