A lot of new Lego collectors decide to begin the hobby with some vintage Lego sets. Vintage Lego sets are very popular, especially for nostalgic reasons. However, some adults who used to play with their Legos during their younger years would just want to pass the toys down to their children and , really, Lego should last many lifetimes, shouldn’t it? One of the very popular sets now would be the many Star Wars Lego minifigure sets, surely these will be worth keeping for a long time.
There are several ways to get your vintage Lego finds. You don’t need to look elsewhere or very far to begin with. There’s always your parent’s attic where your old toys might be gathering dust somewhere. These Lego (and of course other old toys) are just waiting for you to give them a bit of a dust down and clean and polish to get them back to their old luster and back to looking like new.
The next great place to search for your vintage Star Wars Lego would be to scour flea markets, local garage sales and second-hand shops as these are also best places to get your vintage Legos. Now, just beware of any scratches and missing parts, especially if they are selling them at an unbelievably low price, because sometimes they might be missing that vital part or minifigure that collectors are really after.
Otherwise, your next stop is the internet where there are lots of auction sites – eBay is the big one here, of course but don’t forget there is also Lego message sales boards – many of them are good but they usually are not bargains. Lego collectors, old and new, congregate in these portals to buy, sell and talk about their Lego collections. It is always best to join the flock especially if you are new that way you get to know any tricks to buying Lego plus what are truly worth collecting.

In most cases it seems that more children possess the ability to see ghosts in comparison to adults; there are many theories as to what makes this possible. It is quite a common theme in movies like Poltergeist and The Sixth Sense and videos of real ghosts. One theory is that at certain age the parts of the brain that are not used close down, like the ability to learn a language. By teaching a child a foreign language before the age of five, the part of the brain that processes language is stimulated; this makes retaining the second language and learning other foreign languages later in life easier to achieve.
There are those that feel that children who possess the ability to speak with ghosts are often discouraged from doing so, and in doing so they are also being taught to ignore their abilities. Now this theory would work in conjunction with the learning of foreign languages. It is entirely possible that by being taught to ignore their abilities or told “there are no such things as ghosts”, that the part of the brain that processes how children see ghosts is caused to atrophy. Some people believe that a child’s ability to see and speak with ghosts and spirits are caused by a near death experience; this theory has been applied to adults as well. The common opinion is that when someone has come that close to crossing over to the other side, when they survive they retain a small link to the other side. There are paranormal studies on children and the reasons they are able to see ghosts with not one definitive answer for every case study.
There are of course the videos of ghosts and demons targeting children, the common theory is that children are more open. Most children have not had to accept life’s harsh realities and still have open minds, they have not had time to come to the reality of everyday life; some would say it is their innocence and energy that attract ghosts and spirits. While most cases of a child seeing a ghost or spirit is in relation to seeing a comforting family member that has passed on, it could be that the spirit senses the child is in need of comfort and will not pass on until they feel the child is safe. There are also cases where the child has no connection to the spirit or ghost. This theory has a ring of truth to it, as adults we tend to ignore or convince ourselves that certain things are just not possible. Adults are more jaded having had more experience and time in the world, and tend to not believe what we cannot prove conclusively. Whether it is because we refuse to entertain the possibility that some things cannot be explained, or the fear we have from watching real ghost videos, maybe adults learning to keep an open mind is something to explore.
