Decorating and Copper Sinks 0

Mar27

If you have made the call to own copper sinks in your home, there are definitely some decorating tips you are going to want to consider first.  Copper has an unmistakable and striking quality that, when worked well around, really makes a kitchen or bathroom shine.  You are not going to want to ignore some of the best advice in this field though, doing so could end your project with your wife calling a contractor to fix the mess and no one wants that so pay attention to your copper sink guide, and your guts.

Wall Paint

Wall paint should defiantly compliment the sink, and all effort should be made to avoid both primary and cool tone colors.

Counters

If you cannot go granite, go composite.  The same rules apply to counters as apply to wall pain, if the sinks are copper go earth tones, but in this case I love chocolates and darker shades, they really make the copper shine!

Soldered vs. Welded

One word, “welded”. Copper ages, and welded ages the same as the sink does color wise, soldered sinks tend to age black in the corners.

Cabinetry

Find a wood shade that marries the counter, copper sinks, and the wall paint.

Remember, the number one word associated with copper sinks is “natural, you do not want to break this rule.  Natural means just that, keep things looking like they didn’t come out of a factory. So long as you stay in line with that, you should be okay, and try not to distract from the sink in your room.  Copper farm sinks, hammered varieties, and other variations are all works of art in and of themselves, each offering a different image to work around and compliment with each station they occupy in the home, so good luck with your project and have fun fishing through the different possibilities!
