Decorating Your Trailer Home 0

May6

Trailer homes provide their own unique challenges when it comes to decorating. It is very similar to decorating any other small space, like an apartment or dorm room, with maximizing space being the main concern. Besides space, mobile homes provide other obstacles like wall paneling, vinyl wallpaper and awkward angles. This being said, it is still very possible to create a welcoming space that is both original and chic.

The main rule in decorating a trailer home is keeping it simple and neutral. This rule applies to every room in the home. When dealing with small spaces, lots of pattern, bright colors, and lots of furniture can make rooms look small, crowded and busy. So the goal is to use neutral, plain colors, on the walls and decor, and to also de-clutter.

When choosing furniture for living room, pick a few large pieces instead of several small pieces. This will make the room feel larger and also make it easier to move around. Make sure to pick tables with drawers, as it is always a good idea to have more storage. Your wall art and throw pillows can actually have some pattern and color to them as they are your accent pieces. Again though, make your accent pieces large.

When it comes to decorating your kitchen, choose a light airy color for paint. Try to keep your countertops as bare as possible, leaving space only for items that can double as storage. Lighting under your cabinets can create an illusion of spaciousness. Keep your chandelier and window treatments simple and elegant.

In your bedroom, again use light, neutral paint colors. Create as much storage as you can in your bedroom by using every inch of space for this purpose. You can purchase storage cases that fit under your bed, hanging shoe racks for inside your closet door, and storage boxes that are stylish enough to be displayed as part of the decor.

Hopefully these tips will help you to create an inviting space that you can enjoy for many years to come.
