Different Types Of Envelopes 0
The importance of envelope may depend on how the sender wants his letter or mail be received by the recipient. However, the need for envelopes nowadays has been diminishing due to the increasing utilization of telecommunication and campaigns for paperless communications. Business transactions and people who love handcrafted letters are the only remaining consumers of envelope.
Should you find yourself in need of envelope, here are some tips that may help you choose the correct envelope. Envelope may come in different forms, style, color, size and design. The choice of which one to use will highly depend on the purpose, whether is it for wedding invitations, birthday/greeting cards or business communications.
If you are going to send a business letter, there is a variety of envelopes to choose from – commercial envelope, commercial window envelope, booklet envelope and catalog envelope. Each one differs according to purpose. Commercial envelope is most commonly used when sending utility bills, promotional letters, business correspondences, bank statements and letterheads. This kind of envelope is suitable for laser printing and postal applications.
The second type of envelope is the commercial window which may serve the purpose of a usual commercial envelope. The only difference is the presence of a window where the recipient’s name and address can be read through without opening the entire letter envelope.
Another kind of envelope is the booklet envelope, which is also known as open-side envelope. It is usually used for sending annual reports, promotional brochures, and other forms of printed materials that are not possible to be mailed like a usual business letter.
The last type would be the catalog envelope, which is used for mailing catalogs, magazines, booklets and other heavier parcels. Due to the heavy weight of parcels, some catalog booklet also comes with a metal closure or ribbon to grasp the entire parcel.
At the end of the day, no matter which type of envelope you decide to use, it has to go with the purpose. If you prefer sending mails in an informal way, you can customize and come up with lined envelopes. This can be done by using a regular envelope and design it with other colored materials. Choosing black colored envelope will surely make your envelope stand out from the rest. In addition, using black lined envelopes could further add confidentiality to your letter as it can never be read through with the naked eyes when the letter is placed over the light.
