There comes a point in your link building life where you want to target keywords for things that you don’t agree with. For example, I’m in the Height Increase Niche and increasing height with hypnosis is something that height seekers search for. According to the height increase methods I’ve studied, hypnosis is not a valid method for increasing height but I still want the search traffic that the keyword can bring and I still want to build authority for that long tail keyword. My readers are probably sick of hearing about hypnosis and I want to put up valuable content on my website.

Now I could put an entry about height increase with hypnosis as a guest post for another site but then I don’t build any authority for that long tail keyword. Also, usually guest posts have a link limit and for a good sneeze page you want to have lots of internal links. So, an alternative to this is to put stuff about hypnosis on your site but explain why it doesn’t work. Use links from your other pages to support this argument.

By doing this you’re still building authority for this keyword but you’re explaining why it doesn’t and directing traffic to more effective methods. Now some sneeze pages are just lists of links. To design a good sneeze page you want contextual links. You don’t want a table of contents. You want to explain why these links prove that hypnosis is not a valid way to increase height.

So, you want minor sneeze pages for topics that you don’t agree with but still want to build keyword authority for. You also want sneeze pages that tie several topics together. For example, if I was to do a sneeze page on endocrinology I would provide links to testosterone, estrogen, and other hormones. Then you want to build a meta-sneeze page possibly in your sidebar where you link to all your other sneeze pages. Another way to build a sneeze page is to do sneeze pages to sites that disagree with you. You mention your views and then you think to people with opposing views, then discuss why they are right or wrong.

Judging from my niche: The Height Increase Niche, it is 100% possible to design a sneeze page that is both useful to readers, allows you to target new long tail keywords, and helps build your internal link net.
