Is a Canopy Bed Suitable For Your Room 0
Everybody loves canopy beds, but before splurging on these types of bed we need to consider the layout and aesthetics of our house to find out if it fits into the existing space and furniture type.
Now, canopy beds are huge 4 poster size beds and they occupy a lot of space. Hence it is important to first find out the available space in order to judge whether the canopy bed will fit in your room. You must leave enough room for moving around within the room and the other doorways as well as the rest of your furniture.
The next important thing is the ceiling height. Canopies work best when you have a decent ceiling height. In the absence of a proper ceiling height, the canopies might well give you a cramped feeling inside the bedroom. It might also not let you enjoy the true space that a canopy can bring to your sleeping experience. You may be forced to remove the canopies which would defeat the purpose of getting the bed in the first place.
These beds are made in an antique style that hark back to the Victorian era. Therefore, if you have contemporary painted furniture already placed within your bedroom, your canopy bed may look a little out of place. If you are starting from the beginning with your bedroom décor, then you can accompany your canopy with other wooden furniture of a similar design, or even contemporary wooden furniture of with a similar color finish which should go well with it. But if your bedroom is already finished, with other furniture already placed in it, you can still get a canopy bed with a few modern adjustments.
The canopy bed comes with posts that allow you add curtains and drapes around your bed, this is where you are going to make your interior decorating skills come to life, by arranging the drapes or curtains to match the other furniture in the room and the wall color or wall paper. This will incorporate the bed into the entire décor and bring your room together. Therefore a canopy style bed is suitable for any room that can accommodate it comfortably.
