Companies have found a way to stay afloat in a drowning economy. With no sunshine on the horizon companies utilize low outsource cost to keep their companies in business. Outsourcing tasks have become very cost effective for businesses. This trend was introduced when companies began to ship manufacturing overseas. This was originally viewed as high risk. Companies have continued with the trends of outsourcing by utilizing the overseas market. The most recent trend is outsourcing data entry and call centers. With English as the universal language it is not difficult to outsource customer support. Companies outsource entire call centers to cut costs. They maintain a few employees that can answer complicated questions that are not part of the customer service script. This allows them to use these valuable resources to lower product costs.
The exchange rate has made developing and third world countries major players in business relations. This has created industries where the unemployment rates were at record lows and allowed western companies to offer their product at a lower cost. This mutual beneficial relationship has helped all countries.
The manufacturing industry helped alleviate severe poverty overseas. This promoted cultural growth and education was introduced producing a class system. This has created a new form of workers overseas. The two most important introductions, which were a result of overseas manufacturing, are the English language and computer skills. This trend was realized in India in the last twenty years when software development was shipped overseas to the white-collar community. With the boom of the internet, internet outsourcing is now possible from virtually anywhere.
This has created a rise in a concept known as a the global economy. The world is hundreds of years away from this realization but outsourcing trends push this notion forward. This would create more opportunity and less poverty around the world.
