Secrets To Brewing The Perfect Cup Of Coffee 0

May31

If you are always disappointed with the way your cup of coffee tastes there are some things you can do. By following a few simple steps you will improve the taste dramatically and will enjoy drinking each cup.

The brewing pot

You always need to make sure the coffee pot is clean. If you wash it out with soap or even bleach then sometimes you can taste the residue when you are drinking the coffee. The best way to clean the pot is with water and baking soda. After scrubbing the pot all out make sure to rinse thoroughly. This helps from anything interfering with the flavor in your cup. Don’t forget that a decent coffee maker like the Saeco aroma will go a long way to giving you the best coffee experience too.

Filter

The filter should be a metal strainer for brewing your fresh grinds in. It is usually more convenient to purchase the paper filters but, the paper filters can really alter the taste of your coffee. Paper filters usually add things to the grounds that you might taste. For instance some are made from bleach, chlorine and extra starches which will not give you the full flavor of the grinds. A metal or stainless steel strainer will cost a little more but, they can be reused and are well worth it in the long run.

Water

Before you put the water in your pot you need to decide what kind of water you would like to use. If you have a filter attached to your faucet then tap water will do the trick. The filter is getting rid of any extra chlorine and minerals that are found in the water. If you do not have a filter on your tap then you might consider purchasing some bottled water the next time you are at the store. There is nothing extra added to bottled water that could hinder the taste of the coffee when it is done brewing.

The grinds

The next thing you will need to remember is the fresher your beans are the better it will taste. Instead of purchasing something that has been sitting on a shelf for weeks go to the fresh beans. Pick a flavor and grind your beans up right then. The correct coffee grind will make a world of difference in the taste alone.

Quickest way to ruin the flavor

Remember to never leave your pot sitting for hours waiting for you to come back for another cup. If you leave the pot sitting there it tends to get stronger and does not have the fresh flavor you are longing for. It is also not recommended to reheat the pot or even microwave the cup of coffee. This all tends to take away from the flavor and you run the risk of the cup being stronger or even having a sour taste to it.

You only drink one cup at a time so if you want the freshest cup of coffee, only brew each cup as you need it. This way you do not have to worry about how long the pot has been sitting there on the burner and you have no reason to reheat the liquid before consuming.
